umm no. The RPi will never be a viable frontend and its ok because
thats not the target usage scenario for the RPI.

If you insist on ARM / low power frontends you will find way easier
targets in the iMX6 boards. They are even cool with documenting their
video API and are possible to support by Ubuntu armhf. Which allows
you to build a path to bring Mythbuntu to these little critters.

No its not enough. You need to add support for the video decoder,
you need to add support for missing codecs, you need to put the base
code on a hefty diet, you need to rewrite the rendering pipeline if you
want anything close to good GUI performance, you need to move the
heavy art lifting into the backend, you need to package that into a nice
distribution and handle updates etc pp

The hard part will be finding someone with the will, skill and time to
do all that to save 75 bucks.
