That's intensional, AFAIK. It's desirable when you, say, play several 24Hz videos in a row.

Exactly. I and several others see exactly that, and the patch fixes it.

Yes. I was just pointing out that I still see that behaviour with the patch applied, which is good.

But presumably that should happen only if the required mode is not already in use.
