Hey, we don't need any furriners to help us with that, we can cause
enough confusion of our own thank you very much :D It was inevitable
that we'd have this confusion since in the analogue days there was a
1-1 mapping between channel (as in programme) and frequency, and we
still talk about the spectrum in terms of channels.
EG, up here we have a multiplex (BBC A) on channel 62 (ie a bit of
spectrum up around 801.8MHz), and in that multiplex we have multiple
channels (as in programme streams) - so channels 1, 2, 7, 9
(programmes BBC1, BBC2, etc), and a load of others are on channel
(spectrum) 62.
Channel 62 (programme TV Stars) is part of the ArqA mux which is on
channel (spectrum) 61.
Is that enough confusion for one day ?
