Cable providers may choose to encrypt, or even hike their rates. Yea,
sucks to be a cable subscriber, you've my sympathy.

the place I rented gets OK TV signals, and i moved to OTA+hdhr years
back. I am naturally more worried about what shenanigans FCC is going
to do to OTA:

although i dont know what the above means wrt  my OTA channel line up.
