To start with, I'm not actually asking anyone to write anything - 
merely discussing possibilities.

However, your argument is a complete non-sequitur. You appear to be 
saying that because the UI **from a different project** is poor, then 
a MythTV fornted will be poor ?
While some people have talked about XBMC, the bulk of the discussion 
has been about a) the ability of the R-Pi to decode media, and b) 
what it would require to make a working, native MythTV frontend.
