I run an Nvidia ION2 frontend with 64GB SSD (for S/W) and 1T Raid 1 HDD
(for data) set up, it works just find including recording and play back
of HD TV. No noticeable improvement in boot times over HDD. My set up
goes to sleep when not recording, woken up by the RTC alarm. To play
back when not recording it has to be woken up which is done by the
WakeonLAN feature of Mythmote. Propose to add CEC control at some time
