I don't think there are technical problems with UK EIT data although the 
metadata is said to be better via RT.

I have a Freecom stick, bought in 2006.  I don't use it.  It had a 16 
slot PID filter and generated demultiplexer error messages continuously. 
  Back in 2008 I couldn't get it to tune some muxes.  If it's the same 
beast I'd get rid of it.
