It's really hard to tell what you're running there.  You should be 
seeing something like...

 >mythbackend --version
MythTV Version : v0.26-pre-201-g1e29318
MythTV Branch : master
Network Protocol : 74
Library API : 0.26.20120504-1

... with specific commit IDs and branch names.  While the API version 
narrows things down a bit, "v0.25pre" could mean any of around 5000 
different commits.
