Hi;

 From a user's perspective, (who submits a ticket on Trac once in a
while,) I always use --logpath. A simple script allows:

   Running gdb on a core file and
   Getting the matching run of the logfile, plus
   (Nothing to do with --logpath) mythprogramname --version > version.out

All can then be attached to a ticket.
