Another way to tell is from the Watch Recordings screen in MythTV.
This is probably theme-dependent, but for me Arclight displays 1080i
and 720p icons for HD OTA content. Mythbuntu displays 1080 and 720
icons without the i or p suffix, but as others have mentioned, 1080
will be interlaced and 720 will be progressive in the US.

For what it's worth, of my OTA stations, ABC, FOX, and CW are
progressive, and the rest are interlaced.
