[mythtv-users] HD HomeRun Prime, CableCard, LiveTV works fine, recordings work intermittently

I've had a Mythbuntu 10.04 installation for about 2.5 years now, been solid
as a rock really, but my cable company is going all digital this week so I
got an HDHomeRun Prime.

It seems to me that I need version 0.24, although I was able to tune it in
from both Windows and using the regular HDHomeRun drivers for MythTV 0.23
with patches.

To really test it out, I created a VM on my relatively strong Windows PC,
and Installed Mythbuntu 11.10. I was able to connect up the tuners, and
Watch LiveTV, no problem. But when I'd schedule a recording, I'd come back
and find a 376 byte long .mpg file in the recordings directory, but nothing
to actually watch.

And errors about Updatefilters and Program not found in PAT in the backend
log.

It seems I have the very latest firmware for the HDHomeRun, my Myth setup is
patched to the latest.

I started guessing maybe it was something about the VM. So I built a quick
installation on an old Celeron. Same thing.

Then I decided to try my regular Front End, so I did a side-by-side
installation on that machine (I wanted to make sure other things worked like
the TV-out setup, and the audio drivers.)

Everything looked smooth, everything seemed fine, then I got the same error
(from my backend log):

2012-03-18 23:32:02.934 HDHRSH(1311A586-1) Error: UpdateFilters called in
wrong tune mode

just use it

2012-03-18 23:32:03.142 HDHRSH(1311A586-1) Error: UpdateFilters called in

I scanned the archive looking for this problem, I found people talking about
the errors, but in a different context, and it was mentioned they were
patched into the 0.25 trunk.

I'd really like to move along to a more recent vintage (there are some other
features I want to try too!) Am I doing something wrong?

Somebody said for the PAT problem that I should do a channel scan. But do I
really need to do that with CableCard?

Thanks!
