[mythtv-users] logpath and having pids in log file names?

Have you tried using the syslog facility?

This lets you continue using a single file.  The only drawback I found
is that you don't get microsecond timestamp resolution, but you could
use --logpath to an alternate directory if you occasionally need that
resolution.
