[mythtv-users] 0.25 stutter on .AVI playback

I have a number of AVI files stored in my photo album, which I view using the image viewer in myth.  Although the AVI files play, they stutter - briefly freezing once a second exactly.

This sounds like a decoding/detection problem.  Is there a workaround possible?  (Without reencoding all of my videos)
