[mythtv-users] pcHDTV HD-3000 won't tune in 12.04

last month i made the jump from Mythbuntu 8.10 and MythTV .21 to
Mythbuntu 12.04 and .25.  i have two HDHomeRun tuners and two old pcHDTV
HD-3000 cards, and the latter seem to be recognized just fine but will
not tune in any channels at all.  i compared the output of lspci from
the 8.10 setup to what i have now and it seems pretty much the same,
particularly the kernel driver.  mythtv-setup lets me select the HD-3000
tuners but they are never able to record anything.
