Hi;

Type ps -eo args | grep mythbackend to see where your logs are
going. You can change it in /etc/init/mythtv-backend.conf.

Did you check mythtv-setup/General/11th Page/Guide data arguments
to be sure there isn't an errant -l ... in them?
