Are you sure it wasn't emerged, because the messages you posted looked more
like simply warnings. What does the MarcT ebuild get you that the upstream
one doesn't? You may have better luck using the upstream ebuilds as a base.



I keep very similar to the official ebuilds. The only significant change is
that they pull from GIT instead of from a zip. The ebuild maintains a local
git repo, so the next build doesn't need a new zip download. There is
nothing special about them at all, unless you feel like I do.

These ebuilds were originally the CVS ebuilds that someone created years
ago, you can probably find the original creator by searching the news
groups. When we moved to subversion, Preston Crow updated them to continue
to work. I started to maintain them after this migration. When we moved to
GIT I updated them again. We may have official ebuilds now, but these are
from when there was no official support. I feel it is my duty to keep them
maintained as my own meager contribution to the project.
