[mythtv-users] uPNP WD TV Live

My old mythtv system was built using Mythbuntu 11.04. Current one is built
using Mythbuntu 11.10. I have a WD TV Live Plus HD Media Player. I have
not had to do anything special to make them talk. They are all on the same
subnet. Backends and WDTV are DHCP with reservations. No other special
settings. It's been very solid. The WDTV plays everything except NUV
files.

Subject: [mythtv-users] uPNP WD TV Live

Hi

I've been using MythTV for years, currently on 0.24.1. I'm only now
trying out uPNP with a WD TV Live unit.

I've been reading about it and have added the route to the Myth Backend
machine as follows

route add -net 239.0.0.0/8 eth0

With wireshark running on the Backend I can see SSDP packets addressed
to 239.255.255.250 from the WD TV unit. I don't see any traffic back the
other way.

Netstat -nlp shows Mythbackend listening on udp 1900

udp 0 0 255.255.255.255:1900
0.0.0.0:* 31545/mythbackend
udp 29064 0 239.255.255.250:1900
0.0.0.0:* 31545/mythbackend

The firewall is open on UDP port 1900

SELinux is enabled on the Backend machine but I don't see any messages
from it about rejected connections to port 1900 or such like.

But the MythBackend does not show up on the WD TV Videos, Media Server
selection.

I've missed something - but what.

Any ideas

Thanks

Ken
