I haven't tried version 8 of Ron's patch, but the standard version 7 patch
worked with Mythbuntu 11.10.  I have been running it for a couple months
with no problems.  The references to v4l2 have been removed as of Mythbuntu
11.10, but were present in 11.04 and earlier.
