i've been running it for almost exactly 1 year - i've seen a few useful changes.
i do have a few minor quibbles with certain mythtv features (internet
tv; iplayer etc), but since i barely use them, i can quite happily
rely on connecting laptop to my tv for the two times a year i'd
actually use it.

...or Sky HD :P pretty hidous layout, speed and interface compared to
myth (or any PC based DVR really). this was actually one of the many
factors of why i left Sky for mythtv and FreeSAT tuners.
the Virgin UI looks better, but cant say about it's actual performance.

to be honest, i couldnt care what it's called, aslong as it works.
could this be a response to ubuntuTV - mythtv on a diet with the aim
to use/support it on TV's and/or rasberryPI type devices? (presuming
mythtv wont already run on these devices)

if what others have mentioned is true; that the mythtv development
cycle is too complex and not dynamic or adaptable enough, then surely
the devs can change this as they are the ones that set the milestones?
as always, 2 sides to the coin. some like slower releases and others
like lots of updates with new features more regulary.

i dont know; since i started using mythtv 12 months ago, theres been 4
releases i've used; 0.23, 0.24, 0.24.1 and 0.24.2 (BE updated today,
FE will be updated over the weekend). i'd say thats not too bad a
release timescale, as they have always been stable and reliable.
