NTSC=analogue, ATSC=digital

OK, did you change the default paths for storage groups or anything like
that?

You have set your card up as a dummy card by the look of it, instead
of as a digital TV card.

Also a .nuv file would only be looked for if it was an analogue card,
as far as I know.

perhaps start by telling us what sort of card you have set up in item
2 in mythtv-setup.

When I installed this I tried to pretty much take the defaults presented
during the installation...

***Capture Card Setup*** (item 2 in mythtv-setup)
Card Type: Analog V4L capture card
Video Device: /dev/video0
Probed info: Hauppauge HVR950Q [au0828]
VBI device /dev/vbi0
Audio device: ALSA:default
Force audio sampling rate: (None) Do not adjust volume is unchecked
Default input: Television

I did see that cardtype(DUMMY) in the log and was wondering why it did not
show the Hauppauge HVR950Q. Used mplayer to attempt to view the 93mb
recording
tonight and it appears that there is no video. Just footage of a dark,
black screen.

The HVR950Q has three different inputs.
Television, Composite and S-Video
Since the dongle is not attached to this device Composite and S-Video are
not used.

There are many selections for Card Type and one appears to be a USB but
unsure
if that would be the proper selection. Is this the selection that it should
be to correct
the cardtype(DUMMY) ?

David
