FWIW, you should probably ask some questions on the mythtv-users mailing 
list or the #mythtv-users IRC channel on freenode because it sounds like 
whatever you're doing is, at best, doing things the wrong way--and 
almost definitely doing things the hard way.  It may well be, though, 
that what you're doing has already been done before, even.

Remember, though, when asking others for help, you should be respectful 
and keep a moderate tone--you'll get much better help that way.
