Next I needed the info from
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/533426 to fix the
syslogging despite NOT having syslog turned on.

Why isn't the default configuration NOT to just log to a logfile but
instead to log anywhere depending on that specific box's configuration?

The mythpreview logfile mess is ridiculous but the default mythbackend
logging is in the same corner.
