Thanks for working on this, Mike.
Adjustable OSD timeouts are a feature that many of us would love to
have, so we appreciate your efforts!

I'm not sure if it is in the plans, but with your changes, will we be
able to change the OSD timeout based on the action?

For example, I would love to have a very very short timeout (less than
1 second) when changing the volume, but a "normal" length timeout when
fast forwarding, etc.  The reason being, when the volume is too loud
or too soft, users will adjust it based on their ear- reading the
percentage value on the OSD isn't really important.   When the OSD has
items that *DO* need to be read (channel change, etc), it makes sense
to have the OSD persist for a longer duration.
