[mythtv-users] 0.25.2 airplay and iTunes

Chris--

Thanks for the reply.

Fortunately, I got myself Bonjour Browser and I found something interesting. Everything was listed with IPv6 addresses in that browser, so I took a stab at thinking that airplay in iTunes was trying to use the IPv6 address listed, which happened to be the link-local address. I went into the network configuration for my iMac, and turned IPv6 off for every wired and wifi connection, and VOILA… I am streaming both audio AND video from iTunes to MythTV via Airplay.

So, what I may do in the future is add an IPv6 address to the MythTV box and hope that it will be registered with Bonjour. That way, I can re-enable IPv6 on my other machines and leave it that way as it was intended.

When I click that, I see that it shows the monitor icon and not just a speaker icon next to "MythTV on mythtv.xxxxxxxx.com" (where xxxxx is masking my real domain), which indicates that it knows that it can stream video. But, when I go to select it, the icon momentarily turns blue and then it goes right back to black. When I attempt to select "multiple speakers" and select the MythTV checkbox, the box will not stay checked.

Is anyone else having any luck streaming from iTunes to airplay on MythTV, and if so, do you have any insight as to why mine may not be working? Keep in mind that it does in fact stream from my iPhone to MythTV without any problems.
