instead of badmouthing the devs (whose only purpose in life obviously
is to make it harder for you) you could follow the lists and notice that
it has been reported that backporting the little fix breaks livetv
completely on 0.25. Unless someone tests it and reports success there's
no point in backporting it just to break all setups.
