So anyone have and idea of how to make a video sample without
re-encoding it differently?

I tried

ffmpeg -t 600 -i NOVA\ 2012-04-20.mpg  -vcodec copy -acodec copy
nova.sample.mpg

But the resulting file wasn't recognized by mgpinfo.
