[mythtv-users] what does "recorder failed" mean?

Mythtv by itself doesn't seem to attempt any form of fault-tolerance or error-recovery,
so it's pretty much up to you to work around the issue somehow.

Other people here have the same issues from time to time, and some have worked out
ways to recover.  There was a thread on "zero byte files" or something similar
that ended up discussing some workarounds recently.
