The video source contains the channels that you will scan.  It allows 
you to connect multiple tuners to a single video source, such as an 
antenna, or a cable lineup, so that you only have to scan once for all 
of them.  If all you are doing is timed recordings, then you are using 
MythTV incorrectly.  The same can be said for nearly any PVR hardware or 
software.  You get guide data from some online service or EIT, and then 
use that to figure out when to record the show.

What settings did you use?  You want to be doing a Full Scan using the 
Broadcast Frequency Table and the Terrestrial (8-VSB) Modulation.
