When you create a digital tuner, you specify how many virtual tuners you
want to define. This lets MythTV know how many simultaneous recordings
on that physical tuner to allow. The default is two, the maximum is
five, and you left it at the default.
Tuner two is recording Bollywood and rugby at 8PM, both two and a half
hours long, both with a minute of padding on either end. They will both
stop recording at 10:31PM, but the next instance of rugby starts at
10:30PM, with a minute of padding. Since you only have two virtual
tuners defined, MythTV has to use another physical tuner for the same
mux. If you add more virtual tuners, this won't happen. If you remove
your padding, this won't happen.
Note that you must remove all your tuners, and add them all back one at
a time with all the virtual tuners you need, as Ronald described. If
you don't, MythTV will continue to use the fourth tuner, because the
additional virtuals for the second tuner will be lower on the list.
