Many thanks for the info.  The RC-5/RC-6 would explain why I wasn't having
much luck with getting it working.  I will have have a look at other
remotes I can programme it as.

Thanks also for the devinput stuff, didn't know where to get started with
that.  Will look into it and hopefully get it up and running today.  Will
post back if there is anything else.
