[mythtv-users] frontend can't login into backend

I found this thread very helpful.

For those who may be getting the following error:

 QMYSQL: Unable to connect
Database error was: Host '' is not allowed to connect to this
MySQL server

I fixed it with the following sequence:

# mysql -u root -p mysql
Enter password:
Reading table information for completion of table and column names
You can turn off this feature to get a quicker startup with -A

Welcome to the MySQL monitor.  Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 484
Server version: 5.5.14 MySQL Community Server (GPL)

mysql> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'mythtv'@'192.168.1.%' IDENTIFIED by

mysql> UPDATE user SET Password=PASSWORD('mythtv') WHERE user='mythtv';
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.01 sec)
Rows matched: 2  Changed: 0  Warnings: 0

Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.02 sec)

mysql> quit;

Then I restarted mysql, just to be safe and restarted mythbackend.
