This is how channel changes work.  MythTV stops the recording in 
progress, changes channel (if necessary), and then starts a new 
recording--which it can't actually "start" until it receives a 
keyframe.  This all takes time--especially when you factor in the 
hardware delays (i.e. buffering and caching performed in encoder 
hardware, etc).  It's the exact same reason that people always complain 
that Live TV channel changes are slow in MythTV (and the exact same 
reason channel changes are slow in cable-/satellite-company STBs and 
DVRs)...

Feel free to read up on any of the multiple threads on slow channel 
changes in Live TV for more details.  Short answer is, though, unless 
you have additional tuners that you can use and can use "start early" 
and "end late" settings on all your recording rules, you're going to 
miss those few seconds.
