This is how channel changes work. MythTV stops the recording in
progress, changes channel (if necessary), and then starts a new
recording--which it can't actually "start" until it receives a
keyframe. This all takes time--especially when you factor in the
hardware delays (i.e. buffering and caching performed in encoder
hardware, etc). It's the exact same reason that people always complain
that Live TV channel changes are slow in MythTV (and the exact same
reason channel changes are slow in cable-/satellite-company STBs and
DVRs)...
Feel free to read up on any of the multiple threads on slow channel
changes in Live TV for more details. Short answer is, though, unless
you have additional tuners that you can use and can use "start early"
and "end late" settings on all your recording rules, you're going to
miss those few seconds.
