[mythtv-users] Upgraded the Ubuntu 11.10 and now Myth can't connect to MySQL

It works!!

Bill, you are a genius! Thank you so much. It was clearly only a tiny 
problem, but you managed to find the needle in the haystack!

You will be correct in how the problem was caused as well. I will have 
clicked to keep the old file as I have other problems in the past with 
newer files replacing my previous settings. I'm not sure what the 
recommended plan would be there (other than /don't upgrade/ ), but here 
are my lessons learned:

1) Only upgrade on LTS releases (and some would argue to not even do that)

2) When there are differences between old and new config files during an 
upgrade, *cut and paste the diff information* for use if there's a 
problem at the end!!!

Thanks again Bill, and that comes from all of the family too.

Now I need to track back what I did along the way. I think the only 
thing that needs 'undoing' is one of the files or folders that I granted 
universal access to. I'll find that and get it patched back up as it 
should be.
