First at all, you don't mention what OS you're using.

I have a MSI DigiVox Duo with that chip and I needed to download an
alternative firmware to get it working in Ubuntu on my laptop in the
past. The firmware in the linux-firmware package was too old.

Recently I connected it to my backend since it was not used most of the
time. It worked out of the box. I just double checked it,
dvb-usb-af9015.fw is included in the package linux-firmware-nonfree v1.8
which is in the multiverse repository.
