Simon,

I agree with you about selecting find one of these rules instead of
ham-stringing the myth scheduler into selecting a specific showing,
especially as programmes are repeated so often.

Hello!

I created a new recommendation system for MythTV using current data
mining/text mining techniques.

It is realized as a process in RapidMiner, a FOSS multiplatform (Java) data
mining environment. You don't need to learn data mining to use it. (It also
works in the server version of RapidMiner called RapidAnalytics.)

MythMiner is not a plugin but a separate process which can be used on a
separate PC independently from MythTV. It just needs to be able to read and
optionally write the MythTV database. Currently, I've only tested it with
MythTV 0.23.

The default output is a web page with programs on the next day, a MythWeb
link to the scheduling page, channel, begin and end time, category, title
and description. There is a script in the distribution which can be used
with cron to send the daily recommendations. Optionally, you can set
MythMiner to automatically schedule programs that were found to be
interesting with a high confidence.

Regards

Balázs,

This is VERY interesting concept !
In fact I think this might be future of TV (at least for me).

I have some questions:

1. Is it possible to install RapidMiner as daemon on headless server
and do config/maintenance remotely from desktop machine (i.e. from
MAC)

2. In which extend MythMiner can control Myth scheduling ?
Is it possible to do auto scheduling recordings on BE by MythMinder
and schedule them for given recordings group e.g. MythMiner ?

thx
