I've had a 2TB WD green drive in a Myth-box / home-brew NAS now for a
year (Power_On_Hours = 9456). Another 1TB before then has also
performed without problem for roughly double that time (21128). Both
disks are from Newegg, were packaged fine, and have worked flawlessly.
The first was purchased Oct-2008 & the second in May-2010. It's
unfortunate that you've had trouble but personally I have not had
problems with Newegg with disks or other hardware. Out of curiosity how
was the condition of the main box they were shipped in? As a side note
I did not modify them with hdparm or WD tools in any way.
