Aloha,
(new here - if I do something wrong, please just tell me; also
perfectly willing to RTFM if pointed in the right direction)
I have recently bought a 'TerraTec Cinergy T Stick RC' (af9015-based)
to build a video recorder on my workstation, and want to use MythTV
with that.
Got everything set up and working, but when I record for more than about
15 minutes or after 2-3 recordings of whatever length, MythTV somehow
messes up something, and then can't tune to the correct station for the
next program. Mostly it then records nothing, sometimes it will record
whatever channel it was set to before.
What I then get in dmesg about it is:
[55405.044180] af9015: recv bulk message failed:-110
[55405.044194] af9015: af9015_rc_query: failed:-1
[55405.044200] dvb-usb: error -1 while querying for an remote control event.
I _guess_ it has to do with locking, because when I watch with `femon`
MythTV sets FE_HAS_LOCK when I start mythbackend, and as long as femon
reports this, everything's fine. But after some recording (might be 3
1-minute, might be 1 15-minute), femon reports:
status SC | signal cb07 | snr 00be | ber 00000084 | unc 00000009 |
and I get the errors in dmesg etc.
In the log from mythbackend, it looks like
2011-05-13 00:22:29.601 TVRec(2): ASK_RECORDING 2 29 0 0
2011-05-13 00:22:30.076 TVRec(1): ASK_RECORDING 1 29 0 0
2011-05-13 00:23:02.212 TVRec(1): Changing from None to RecordingOnly
2011-05-13 00:23:02.214 TVRec(1): HW Tuner: 1->1
2011-05-13 00:23:02.281 AutoExpire: CalcParams(): Max required Free Space: 3.0 GB w/freq: 14 min
2011-05-13 00:23:02.282 Started recording: servustest20110513-01:"Fr. Mai 13 00:23:00 2011": channel 12104 on cardid 1, sourceid 1
The difference to a working recording are the missing "Updating status"
and "TVRec(1): rec->GetPathname()" lines.
With other applications, for example kaffeine, I can watch hours on
end, on different channels, without problems or any errors, so my
_guess_ is that it's MythTV. Also when I get the errors from the
af9015 module I have to physically dis- and re-connect the USB
receiver, un- and re-loading the kernel module doesn't help.
FWIW, I run the USB stick from one of the built-in USB ports, not via
a USB hub.
OS: Debian 6.0.1
Kernel: 2.6.38-bpo.2-686-bigmem #1 SMP (from backports.org)
Drivers: linux-media from linuxtv.org May 10, 2011
Firmware for af9015: 4.95.0
MythTV: 0.24+fixes20110121-0.0 (from debian-multimedia.org)
I've already searched the 'net for hours, tried around with various
firmware-blobs and different driver versions for af9015, also loading
the af9015 module with "remote=-1" (I don't use the remote control
anyway) and "debug=1", but to no avail.
Thankful for any hints and/or pointers.
cheers,
&rw
