Then again, I don't think of Linux when I think of simple either (and
there's plenty of magical hidden directories in it).  If Ubuntu or it's ilk
haven't gotten a "simple" QAM TV app pre-installed yet, then I doubt
it's existence and wouldn't recommend Linux as the platform of choice for
that use case.
