I have a six drive raid 6 that is used exclusively for mythtv.

Mythtv's UPNP will periodically read the files on disk to update the 
exported list which keeps the disks awake.

Since I don't use UPNP, I just disabled UPNP for mythtv and my drives 
happily go to sleep.
