The fact that restarting MythTV fixed the problem for a while would
tend to imply that it's a software issue.  However I've been caught
out that way before and the symptoms do seem typical of a hardware
thermal failure so if you've got nothing else to try you could:

1)     Open the case and blow out all the dust
2)     Unplug the PVR-350 and plug it in again, possibly into a different slot.
3)     Check that all fans are working.
4)     Run the system with the lid off for a while, to see if a lower
temperature makes it last a little longer
5)     Check all the audio cables.

But maybe you've already tried these things?
