Yes, program.originalairdate is used, though, indirectly.  The concept
of repeat gets folded into program.previouslyshown which is what the
scheduler and other parts of MythTV use.  What does the program
details screen show for the programs in question?  Specifically, does
the description haf "Repeat" at the end and what is the original air
date?
