[mythtv-users] scheduler no longer honoring "New Episodes Only"?

On the system I built for my parents, two odd things happened in the
last few days.
First, a few recording rules' "Filter" setting went from "New Episodes
Only" to "None", the other is that the scheduler looks to no longer be
honoring the "New Episodes Only" setting. the scheduler is scheduling
shows to record that have an original air date as far back as 1999!

has anyone seen this occur before?
