Thanks. I installed the 1.0.24 and cat /proc/asound/version shows it.
Still not able to get any sound through the system, either in MythTV
or browsing to a site like youtube.

alsamixer doesn't appear to be showing my hdmi, but it does appear to
be showing in aplay -L:
