[mythtv-users] What happened to "use video as timebase" checkbox?

After upgrading to 0.24 from 0.23, I immediately suffered poor
playback for 720p content that -v playback revealed was due to A/V
sync issues.  After dredging through a number of old threads, I
discovered my issue is very similar to one that was solved in ticket
#7759: http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/7759

The only catch, reading through the thread that is referenced in the
ticket, is that the patch is only effective if "use video as timebase"
is unchecked.

I'm assuming that the code introduced by the patch (against 0.22-fixes
at the time) still exists in 0.24.  However, I can no longer find the
"use video as timebase" checkbox, as it is no longer in the Playback
Settings.  Does anyone know what happened to the option, and, if it is
no longer available to the user, what state it was left in?
