I needed lirc-0.9_pre1 to get it to work.  0.8.7 compiled fine with my
2.6.32 kernel but then I got ioctl errors versus the media_builds
mceusb driver.

During the process I upgraded from 2.6.32 to 2.6.36 then to 2.6.38.
