what does cat /proc/asound/version shows ?

what does aplay -L show ? (when it comes to audio device playback,
it's really the only option that matters and is what myth would show)

Did you boot the PC before or after your turned out the TV/amp ?

Make sure the PC is booted after everything else is on.
