You and 99% of the population. I think the truth is that the
architecture makes it hard to get the more desirable behaviour
that you expected. Why that wasn't said rather than "it is as
intended", I don't know. Not that I don't believe it is as
intended. It's just that it is intended to be the way it is
only because the code comes out more naturally that way
rather than anyone wants the current behaviour more than the
one you expected.
