There are multiple issues here. The biggest is that Broadcom is not really
being very responsive with help these days, which has stalled efforts to
get the code for the '15 finished off. That has in turn decreased interest
in working on support for the '12, since it'll likely run into the same
sorts of issues. Further, there's work going on in ffmpeg to support both
revisions of the hardware, so at some point, mythtv's crystalhd support
will likely be replaced by ffmpeg's support. Duplicating that effort when
its likely to be thrown out, if ever even functional, isn't the best use of
developer time, so developers are working on other things right now. And to
top it off, the ffmpeg support is equally stalled on some decoder pipeline
issues, waiting indefinitely on help from Broadcom.

Basically, the '15 will mostly work with many encodings, notsomuch with
others, and don't expect '12 support, or even full non-tech-preview '15
support, any time in the immediate future. :(
