Well, it shouldn't be that just because I am not in the US and don't
have a cablecard provider that I have to, every day, sit in front of
mythtv-setup going through the umpteen combinations of scans looking for
channel differences.

Surely the scanning, prompt answering, comparing and alerting about
differences from scan to scan can be automated, yes?

It really shouldn't be a case of you have to have facilities for the
best solution or you don't get one at all when there is a reasonable
second case solution.
