I personally think including this can lead to myth functional improvement derived from improvements of underlaying foundations (Qt 4.6) and it's value is independent on impact on my issue.
Assuming it is not trigger to other MySql bugs (and MySQL bug tracker is silent here) it is definitely worth to include in a way You mention.
